1. Eligibility to Rent
To rent a vehicle from Ged Rental, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old (or older if required by specific vehicle categories).
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence or an international driving permit for a minimum of 2 years.
- Provide a valid credit card in the name of the primary driver for payment and security purposes.
- Provide proof of identity and address (such as a passport and a utility bill).
2. Reservation and Payment
- All reservations should be made via the Ged Rental website or directly through our customer service team.
- To confirm a reservation, a valid credit card is required to secure the booking.
- The rental charges will be based on the vehicle type, rental period, and any additional services you choose (e.g., insurance, GPS, child seats).
- Payment for the rental, including taxes, fees, and surcharges, is due at the time of vehicle pick-up, unless otherwise specified.
3. Rental Period and Vehicle Use
- The rental period begins at the time you pick up the vehicle and ends when you return it.
- The vehicle is rented solely for private use. You may not use the vehicle for:
- Commercial purposes (e.g., transporting goods or people for hire).
- Off-road driving or use in hazardous conditions.
- Racing, speed tests, or any illegal activities.
- Only the drivers listed in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Additional drivers must be approved and added to the rental agreement.
4. Insurance and Liability
- Ged Rental provides basic insurance coverage as part of the rental price, including Third-Party Liability (TPL) for damage to other vehicles and property. However, this coverage may have excess amounts.
- Additional coverage options, including Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP), are available for purchase to reduce your liability.
- You are responsible for the payment of any excess amounts, damages, fines, or other liabilities incurred during the rental period unless covered by the purchased insurance.
- If the vehicle is involved in an accident or damaged, you must immediately inform Ged Rental and the relevant authorities (if required).
5. Fuel Policy
- Vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel as at the time of pick-up.
- If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, you will be charged for the cost of refueling plus a refueling service fee.
6. Additional Charges
Additional charges may apply for the following:
- Late returns: If the vehicle is returned later than the agreed return time, an additional daily charge will apply.
- Cleaning charges: If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty or with pet hair, a cleaning fee may be applied.
- Excess mileage: If your rental agreement includes a mileage limit, exceeding this limit will result in an additional fee per mile.
- Tolls, fines, and penalties: Any toll charges, parking fines, or traffic violations incurred during the rental period are your responsibility.
7. Cancellation and Modifications
- Cancellations: If you cancel your reservation 24 hours or more before the scheduled pick-up time, you will receive a full refund.
- Late cancellations (within 24 hours of pick-up) may result in a cancellation fee.
- Modifications: You may modify your reservation (subject to availability) by contacting Ged Rental at least 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up.
8. Damages and Accidents
- In the event of an accident, you must immediately notify Ged Rental and the police (if necessary).
- You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle during the rental period, including but not limited to collisions, vandalism, theft, or damage caused by neglect (e.g., driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs).
- If the vehicle is stolen or written off, you will be responsible for the full cost of the vehicle, minus any applicable insurance coverage.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the rented vehicle for:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Transporting hazardous materials or goods.
- Subletting or renting the vehicle to any third party.
- Driving outside of the UK unless expressly authorized by Ged Rental.
- Off-roading or engaging in any activities that could cause excessive wear or damage to the vehicle.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
- Ged Rental collects and processes your personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws and our Privacy Policy.
- By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Ged Rental harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from your use of the rental vehicle or any violation of these Terms and Conditions.
12. Limitation of Liability
- Ged Rental’s liability is limited to the amount you paid for the rental.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of earnings or use, during the rental period.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in London.
14. Amendments to Terms
